NINE WAYS TO NAIL THE KNOW, LIKE, TRUST FACTOR

Brand expert

Want a constant stream of business? Yeah? I mean, who doesn’t. But the big question is how do you make that happen? Well, there’s three little words that when combined together, give your brand the x-factor you need to keep locking in those orders, scale your business and get where you wanna be. So what are those three little words? Well, that’s what I’m going to talk about in this post how nine ways to nail the know, like, trust factor..

I talk a lot about the Know, Like, Trust factor and what’s great about it is the fact that it defines the journey that your audience go on with you, and more importantly with your brand. That’s great because it means you know that everything you put out there has to help your ideal client move from one stage to the next. A really simple thing that I do to keep me on track is this:

KNOW
They see you all the time. And more importantly, what they see is consistent.

LIKE
You are relatable and real. You are you. You don’t think you’re better than anyone else. You want to help, and they know it.

TRUST
You are honest, and authentic. You’re not always selling. You’re adding value. You are helping them be better.

And whatever stage of your branding journey you’re at you can do things to dial up the know, like and trust factor, making sure that when you do launch, you’re already well on the way to making them trust you. So what I thought I’d do, is break down a branding journey to show you which of the three elements each stage relates to. Let’s get into it.

#1 – Understanding your audience and offering

The first stage of every branding journey. Why? Because the better you understand your audience and their pain points, the more value you can add. And the more you do that, the more your ideal client will LIKE you.

#2 – Understanding your brand

As soon as you know your audience, you can refine your niche. And you can start to position yourself as the expert in that niche. Why do that? Because if you’re an expert, your audience will TRUST you, your opinion, and your brand.

#3 – Choosing your colours

It’s always important to consider what your ideal client will like, not just what you will like. So make sure that when you’re defining your colours you’re only picking options that grab their attention. Colour psychology is massive in branding. So nailing that, using colours that evoke the right emotions, in the right people (your ideal clients, obvs) will only grab their attention more and make them LIKE you.

#4 – Creating your logo

It has to be unique, the fonts you use have to appeal to your audience and the textures of patterns you use have to do the same. It has to look and feel like you. It has to be identifiable to you. Why? Because that’s how you build your reputation. That’s how you stop the scroll on social, and create something that makes them KNOW exactly who you are.

#5 – Your tone of voice

It’s not just what you say, or what your story is, it’s the way that you say it. And you have to make sure that you sound the same across every touchpoint. Why? Because you are your brand, and your voice is one of the things that makes it unique. That’s one of the reasons why your audience will LIKE you.

#6 – Your website

One of the key touchpoints of every business now is the website. It’s a massive shop window for your business. And another great way for them to get to know you. You can showcase what you offer, and you audience can see your past work, and your client testimonials. By showing that you’ve done it before, on multiple occasions, you’re just adding more layers of trust.

But don’t forget, not only does your website have to be on-brand on desktop, it also has to on-point on mobile. If it’s not, and they click through from social, they won’t TRUST you to deliver for them.

#7 – Your photography

And one of the things every brand needs is killer photography that looks and feels like you. It shows off your personality, and what makes your brand unique – YOU. You shouldn’t be boring. Don’t do what everyone else does. Think outside the box. Do you! Plus, not only will it make your clients LIKE you because they can see the face behind the brand, the more of you they see, the more they’ll TRUST you as you can use your brand photos to tell another bit of your story. People buy from people, remember.

#8 – Nailing that launch

Getting your launch right is absolutely key to building the KNOW, LIKE AND TRUST factors with your audience. Whether it’s reaching out to influencers, or just starting with a bang, if you get this moment right you can build real momentum in your brand. You can shout to the right people and get them to see who you are and what you offer.

#9 – Beyond launch

It might be a bit of a cliche, but your launch really is just the start of your brand journey. You have to keep it all up, bring the energy and maintain the momentum forever, if you wanna’ get where you wanna’ be. Stay consistent on social, keep grabbing your ideal client’s attention and keep delivering. The toughest part of this is that you have to do all three at once. But if you’ve come this far, and you’re in good habits, maintaining the principles of KNOW, LIKE and TRUST will be easy. Trust me.

So there you have it. My key thoughts on how you can use building your brand to hit the know, like and trust factor with your audience. The hard thing, is that you always need to be thinking about all three. But the great thing is the fact that most of these things fit naturally into the journey. What you have to do is stick to them. And if you do that, you’ll be hitting the trust factor consistently, which means returning customers and referrals to bring in that stream of business.
